MoistureGuard sensors are an integral part of the largest multi-floor wooden construction project in Slovenia

MoistureGuard is pleased to be involved in the construction of the largest wooden building in Slovenia, now being built on the coast of the Gulf of Venice in the picturesque seaside town of Izola.

The three-storey building will be the new headquarters of the Innorenew EU research center dealing with the application of natural materials and their use in buildings. Laboratories, offices and open space for young scientists from all over the world will be located in the pleasant environment of the wooden building.

The CLT construction exposed to the conditions of a maritime climate offers a unique opportunity to deploy the MoistureGuard system and monitor the parameters of the structure, and how CLT wood will respond to the moist and changing environment. Monitoring of the building envelope, including the insulation layers, is done with 36 HT02 sensors measuring humidity and temperature and 4 MHT04 sensors measuring humidity weight directly in the CLT structural elements. The sensors are located at measuring points on all four sides of the building and in 4 height levels. The sensors will be connected directly to the building's own data infrastructure for continuous monitoring.
